Here's The Sex Pistol
The Sex Pistols may have only been together for two years in the late '70s, but they changed the face of popular music. Through their raw, nihilistic singles and violent performances, the band revolutionized the idea of what rock & roll could be ad also one of first punk band in the scenes. In England, this punk band was considered dangerous to the very fabric of society and were banned across the country; in America, they didn't have the same impact, but countless bands in both countries were inspired by the sheer sonic force of their music, while countless others were inspired by their independent, do-it-yourself ethics, like many punk do. Even if they didn't release any singles by themselves, there was an implicit independence in the way they played their music and handled their career. The band gave birth to the massive independent music underground in England and America that would soon include bands that didn't have a direct musical connection to the Sex Pistols' initial three-minute blasts of rage, but couldn't have existed without those singles. Guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook were regulars at a boutique owned by their manager, Malcolm McLaren; bassist Glen Matlock worked at the store. Vocalist John Lydon, who would later perform under Johnny Rotten, met the rest of the group at the shop and was asked to join the band. While the band played simple rock & roll loudly and abrasively, Rotten arrogantly sang of anarchy, abortion, violence, fascism, and apathy; without Rotten, the band wouldn't have been threatening to England's government -- he provided the band's conceptual direction, calculated to be as confrontational and threatening as possible. The publicity caused by their caustic first single "Anarchy in the U.K." caused the band to be dropped by their record label, EMI. Matlock was fired before their next single "God Save the Queen," which was released on Virgin; it was banned by the BBC. Matlock's replacement was Sid Vicious, a street tough who, unlike the rest of the band, couldn't play his instrument. thier style in playing music, dressing style is a role model for a many punker nowadays such as using punk stuff like safety pin jacket, batch, spike, keychain in neck and so on. It is influence so many bands to wear a sniffy shoes, old jeans in their syle. We could say that punk scene is nothing without Sex Pistols existence.
Sex Pistol - God Save The Queen
God save the queen
The fascist regime They made you a moron Potential H-bomb
God save the queen
She ain't no human being There is no future In England's dreaming
Don't be told what you want
Don't be told what you need There's no future, no future, No future for you
God save the queen
We mean it man We love our queen God saves
God save the queen'
Cause tourists are money And our figurehead Is not what she seems
Oh God save history God save your mad parade Oh Lord God have mercy All crimes are paid

God save the queen
We mean it man We love our queen God saves
God save the queen
We mean it man And there is no future In England's dreaming
No future, no future,
No future for you No future, no future, No future for me
No future, no future,
No future for you No future, no future For you |

Green Day |

Here Is Green Day
Green Day was part of the California punk scene. Childhood friends Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar, vocals) and Mike Dirnt (bass; born Mike Pritchard) formed their first band, Sweet Children, in Rodeo, California when they were 14 years old. By 1989, the group had added drummer Al Sobrante and changed their name to Green Day. That year, the band independently released their first EP, 1,000 Hours, which was well-received in the punk scene. Soon, the group had signed a contract with the local independent label, Lookout! Records. 39/Smooth, Green Day's first album, was released later that year. Shortly after its release, the band replaced Kiftmeyer with Tre Cool (born Frank Edwin Wright, III); Tre Cool became the band's permanent drummer. it is nowadays like Green Day stand as one of influential punk rock band with their massive lyrics.
Green Day printed a fictional letter purporting to be from I.R.S. Records that claimed the label had made an attempt to sign them. In a mock reply to the fictional letter, the band made it clear that they were loyal to Lookout! Records, saying that I.R.S. was a cheesy and washed-up label. They recorded two more EPs later that year: Slappy and Sweet Children, the latter of which included some older songs for the Minneapolis, Minnesota indie label Skene! Records. In 1991, Lookout! Records released 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, a compilation of the 39/Smooth, Slappy, and 1,000 Hours EPs. In late 1990, shortly after the band's first nationwide tour, Sobrante moved to Arcata, California to attend college. Lookouts drummer Tré Cool began filling in as a temporary replacement, and when it became clear that Sobrante did not plan on committing to the band full time, Tré Cool's position as Green Day's drummer became fixed. The band went on tour for most of 1992 and 1993, and played a stretch of shows overseas in Europe. They headlined a gig at the Hollywood Palamino club in 1992 with Jughead's Revenge and Strung Out, a show that would become legendary among the band's following. Kerplunk sold about 50,000 copies in the U.S. which was considered quite a large amount for the independent punk scene in 1992. It eventually sold over 2 million albums worldwide.
Green Day's sound is often compared to first wave punk and old punk bands such as The Ramones, The Clash, and the Buzzcocks. The majority of their song catalog is composed of distorted guitar, fast, manic drums, and low, heavy bass. Most of their songs are fast-paced and under the average song length of four minutes (4:00). Billie Joe Armstrong has however said his biggest influences are seminal alternative rock bands The Replacements, and that their influence is particularly noted in the band's chord changes in songs. Armstrong's lyrics describe alienation, ("Jesus of Suburbia", "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", "Reject"), hysteria ("Basket Case", "Panic Song"), girls ("She", "80"), the effects of doing drugs ("Geek Stink Breath", "Green Day"), alienation ("Outsider", "Something To Believe In"), girls ("I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend", "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker"), and drugs ("Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue"), Green Day covered their song Outsider on the tribute album We're a Happy Family and they have also covered the Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop." Green Day's style also closely resembles that of other alternative and punk rock bands based around the 924 Gilman Street scene in the late 1980's and early 1990's, such as Screeching Weasel, and The Mr. T Experience.
Grren Day- American Idiot
Don't wanna be an American idiot. Don't want a nation under the new mania. And can you hear the sound of hysteria? The subliminal mindfuck America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension. All across the alienation. Everything isn't meant to be okay. Television dreams of tomorrow. We're not the ones who're meant to follow. For that's enough to argue.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America. I'm not a part of a redneck agenda. Now everybody do the propaganda. And sing along in the age of paranoia.
Welcome to a new kind of tension. All across the alienation. Everything isn't meant to be okay. Television dreams of tomorrow. We're not the ones who're meant to follow. For that's enough to argue.
Don't wanna be an American idiot. One nation controlled by the media. Information age of hysteria. It's calling out to idiot America.
Welcome to a new kind of tension. All across the alienation. Everything isn't meant to be okay. Television dreams of tomorrow. We're not the ones who're meant to follow. For that's enough to argue.
Grren Day - Today Macy's Day Parade
Todays a macys day parade
The night of the living dead is on its way With the credit report for duty call Its a lifetime guaranteeStuffed in a coffin, ten percent more free Red light special at the mausoleum
Give me something that I need
Satisfaction guaranteed to you Whats the consolation prize Caught in these side dreams of hope
When I was kid I thought
I wanted all the things that havent got Oh, but I learned the hardest way Then I realized what it tookTo tell the difference between thieves and crooks Lets learn, me and you
Give me something that I need
Satisfaction guaranteed Cause Im thinking about a brand new hope One Ive never knownCause now I know its all that I wanted |

It Is Goldfinger
Goldfinger is a ska punk band that formed in 1994. It is largely believed that the band is named after the James Bond film, Goldfinger. They were founded by John Feldmann on vocals and guitar, Simon Williams on bass, Darrin Pfeiffer on drums, and Charlie Paulson on guitar. Before they were signed to a major label, they released an EP titled Richter. Many of the songs on Richter are demo versions of songs on their full length debut, Goldfinger, which was released in 1996 and was a hit on college radio. Their biggest single was "Here in Your Bedroom". Though their second album, Hang-Ups, was less successful, the band still maintained a devoted fanbase in the hardcore community. Their third studio LP was Stomping Ground, which sold poorly in the US but was a modest hit in some European Countries, thanks to a cover of 99 Red Balloons, sung partly in German. 2002's Open Your Eyes was the first for their new record label, Jive/Zomba. Frontman John Feldmann has produced records for Mest, The Used and Story of the Year. He also produced Good Charlotte's single "The Anthem", which was originally named "Oracle of Elcaro". Since the band began, Feldmann has become a vegan and animal rights supporter, as can be seen briefly in the music video for "Open Your Eyes". In early 2005, they released their first album for their new label, Maverick Records, titled "Disconnection Notice". It featured the single "Wasted". The CD was less well received compared to former Goldfinger albums. Former band members include founding bassist Simon Williams, who left the band following Hang-Ups, and Brian Arthur, who left the band following Disconnection Notice. "99 Red Balloons" also featured in Not Another Teen Movie along with Eurotrip, and their cover of The Spiral Starecase's "More Today Than Yesterday" plays during the ending credits of The Waterboy. "Superman" was also featured in the comedy Kingpin Goldfinger's song "I want" from their album Disconnection Notice is featured in Burnout Revenge on the Playstation 2, Xbox, and Xbox 360, and the song "My Everything" is also on the same album but is instead from EA Games "SSX On Tour" 2006 saw Alternative Press Magazine list the self titled Goldfinger CD as one "10 albums that shaped 1996" along side No Doubt, Weezer and others. After the band member Brian Arthur resigned, Goldfinger announced that their old guitarist Charlie Paulson would return. An article is posted on their myspace account and they returned to their old logo. A new web page is in the process of being updated and a new album will be released in the first half of 2007, which Paulson states will sound like "old school Goldfinger." The new record will be released on the independent record lable Side One Dummy. Darrin Pfeiffer has recently told fans on their myspace page that "I'm thinking a late summer release date; June...July, maybe....who knows", stateing that it is a mix between Iron Maiden and Celine Dion.
Goldfinger - 99 Red Ballons
You and I in a little toy shopbuy a bag of balloons with the money we've got
Set them free at the break of dawn' Til one by one, they were gone Back at base, bugs in the software Flash the message, "Something's out there" Floating in the summer sky 99 red balloons go by.
99 red balloons floating in the summer sky
Panic bells, it's red alert There's something here from somewhere else The war machine, it springs to life Opens up one eager eye Focusing it on the sky As 99 red balloons go by.
99 Decision Street, 99 ministers meet
To worry, worry, super-scurry Call out the troops now in a hurry This is what we've waited for This is it boys, this is war The president is on the line As 99 red balloons go by.
99 Kriegsminister
Streichholz und Benzinkanister Hielten sich für schlaue Leute Witterten schon fette Beute Riefen: Krieg und wollten Macht Mann, wer haette das gedacht Dass es einmal soweit kommt Wegen 99 Luftballons
99 dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon It's all over and I'm standin' pretty In the dust that was a city If I could find a souvenir Just to prove the world was here... And here it is, a red balloon I think of you and let it go.
Goldfinger - Stalker
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh WOO!
She calls me on the phone
Hoping that I'm home And that I'm all alone But when I say hello, I only hear dial tone She thinks that I'm her own Outside my window she crept, Watching my every step
[Chorus]
Oh oh oh She's following me Oh oh oh She's out of her tree Oh oh oh She's off of her rocker I want to marry my stalker Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh Oh oh oh WOO!
Sometimes she says she's my mom,
Looks like she doesn't belong She's my own peeping tomFlowers every day The cops they tell her to stay500 feet away. She's sleeping on my doorstep She hasn't hurt me yet
[Chorus]
Oh oh oh She's following me Oh oh oh She's out of her tree Oh oh oh She's off of her rocker I want to marry my [x3] stalker
[Bridge]
This morning she wasn't there I hope that she still cares I almost gave up hope But today i awoke To a private note She says she's going to jail For going through my mail But she'll stay on my trail
[Chorus x2]
Oh oh oh She's following me Oh oh oh She's out of her tree Oh oh oh She's off of her rocker I want to marry my [x3] stalker
oh oh oh oh oh oh oh [x2]I want to marry my stalker |

NOFX |
|
About NOFX (according to Mike)
Mike start it at 1983..... "Here's what I do remember. I was sitting with a kid named Dillon in our usual spot with the other punkers during lunchtime at Fairfax high school. He was a drummer, and we were dissatisfied with the bands we were in. My band consisted of me and my one and only Punk Rock friend both playing guitar and singing and that was it. Neither one of us had finished any songs. Not quite a recipe for success. So I sez to my friend, let's start a band. A real band, a band that does stuff. A band that writes songs, practices, puts out records, and goes on tour. We talked about who else we wanted in this band. We knew lots of good people from going to punk gigs around LA. He knew a Bass player named Mike who used to be in a band called False Alarm. We both knew a guy named Steve from Orange County who we agreed would make a great front man. We made some calls and arranged to meet and have a first practice. That's when I first met Mike. Mike was a huge Misfits fan. He looked like a Misfits fan. His hair was long in front and it was all hairsprayed together to a point down the middle of his face in what was called a "Devilock". Mike had some songs for us to play. I had written a song called "Take Part". It sounded an awful lot like Minor Threat's version of the Monkees' Stepping Stone. Steve didn't go to that first practice, he couldn't get a ride up from Orange county. After that first practice Dillon quit and Mike called up Erik. Mike and Erik had met a couple of years earlier while skateboarding around Hollywood. Erik liked Mike's Black Flag skateboard. It was Punk. Mike had asked Erik to join False Alarm back then, but Erik's mom wouldn't let him do it 'cuz he had no driver's license yet. Later on, when we asked him to play drums with us he was in a band called Caustic Cause. Erik joined us but his other band would have to have priority. We were supposed to be a 4-piece but practiced as a 3-piece, Steve hadn't made it to one practice yet." Now it is NOFX were stand as one of most well known punk rock band and they're not just there. Mike, the frontman of NOFX build their own label called Fat Wreck Chords, collect a bunch of shit punk, indie and emo band. Stand as a punk. NOFX-Franco Un-American
I never thought about the universe, it made me feel small Never thought about the problems of this planet at all Global warming, radio-active sites Imperialistic wrongs and animal rights! No!
Why think of all the bad things when life is so good? Why help with an 'am' when there's always a 'could'? Let the whales worry about the poisons in the sea Outside of California, it's foreign policy
I don't want changes, I have no reactions Your dilemmas are my distractions That's no way to go, Franco Un-American No way to go, Franco Un-American No way to go, Franco Un-American No way to go, Franco, Franco Un-American
I never looked around, never second-guessed Then I read some Howard Zinn now I'm always depressed And now I can't sleep from years of apathy All because I read a little Noam Chomsky
I'm eating vegetation, 'cause of Fast Food Nation I'm wearing uncomfortable shoes 'cause of globalization I'm watching Michael Moore expose the awful truth I'm listening to Public Enemy and Reagan Youth
I see no world peace 'cause of zealous armed forces I eat no breath-mints 'cause they're from de-hoofed horses Now I can't believe; what an absolute failure The president's laughing 'cause we voted for Nader
That's no way to go, Franco Un-American No way to go, Franco Un-American No way to go, Franco Un-American Where can we go, Franco Un-American
I want to move north and be a Canadian Or hang down low with the nice Australians I don't want to be another "I-don't-care"-ican What are we gonna do Franco, Franco Un-American
Drugs Are Good
1-2-fuck off, drop out, never trust a fucking hippie And for that matter don't trust anyone. Quit school, don't work, livin' out the music de punk. If I could do it so could anyone.
Drugs are good, they let you do things that you know you not should. And when you do 'em people think that you're cool. And when you do 'em people think that you're cool.
1-2-join a punk band, shave your head and get a tattoo. You don't need talent just sing out of tune. Self destruction, no moral to throw it on me. For no particular reason beat up everyone.
Drugs are neat, and you can buy 'em relatively cheap. And when you do 'em people think that you're cool. And when you do 'em people think that you're cool.

Blink 182 |
Monday, February 12, 2007 |
Blink 182 Short Story Blink-182 was a pop punk band formed in 1992 by Mark Hoppus (vocals and bass), Tom DeLonge (vocals and guitar) and Scott Raynor (drums) in Poway, California, a northern suburb of San Diego. Originally, the band's official name was "Blink," however, the numerical three digit suffix was appended early in their career following an objection from an Irish band with the same name. Travis Barker replaced Raynor on drums in 1998, midway through a U.S. tour. The group went on indefinite hiatus in early 2005 and the possibility of a reunion has neither been officially confirmed nor denied. DeLonge went on to form Angels and Airwaves while Hoppus and Barker spawned +44. The band is known for its catchy, simple melodies and lyrical toilet humor. Songwriters Hoppus and DeLonge cite pop punk bands such as The Descendents and Screeching Weasel as their early influences, however, the band's songwriting and production are driven by a pop sensibility. Their last album featured more musical experimentation and lyrical sophistication than previous releases. The Rockshow
Hanging out behind the club on the weekends Acting stupid, getting drunk with my best friends I couldn't wait for the summer and the Warped Tour I rememeber that it's the first time that I saw her there She's getting kicked out of school cause she's failing I'm kinda nervous, cause I think all her friends hate me She's the one, she'll always be there She took my hand and I made it I swear
Because I fell in love with the girl at the rock show She said "what?" and I told her that I didn't know She's so cool, better sneak in through her window Everything's better when she's around Can't wait until her parents go out of townI fell in love with the girl at the rock show
When we said we were gonna move to Vegas I remember the look her mother gave us 17 without a purpose or direction We don't owe anyone a fucking explaination
I fell in love with the girl at the rock show She said "what?" and I told her that I didn't know She's so cool, better sneak in through her window Everything's better when she's around Can't wait until her parents go out of town I fell in love with the girl at the rock show
Black and white picture of her on my wall I waited for her call, she always kept me waiting And if I ever got another chance I'd still ask her to dance
Because she kept me waiting
I fell in love with the girl at the rock show She said "what?" and I told her that I didn't know She's so cool, better sneak in through her window Everything's better when she's around Can't wait until her parents go out of town I fell in love with the girl at the rock show
Blink 182-Feeling This
I got no regret right now(I'm feeling this) The air is so cold and numb(I'm feeling this) Let me go in her room(I'm feeling this) I wanna take off her clothes(I'm feeling this) Show me the way to bed(I'm feeling this) Show me the way you move(I'm feeling this) Fucking is such a blur(I'm feeling this) I love all the things you do
Fate fell short this timeYour smile fades in the summer Place your hand in mineI'll leave when I wanna
Where do we go from here Turn all the lights down now Smiling from ear to ear(I'm feeling this) Our breathing has got too loud(I'm feeling this) Show me the bedroom floor(I'm feeling this) Show me the bathroom mirror(I'm feeling this) We're taking this way too slow(I'm feeling this) Take me away from here(I'm feeling this)
This place was never the same again After you came and went How can you say you meant anything different To anyone standing alone On the street with a cigarette On the first night we met Look to the past And remember her smile And maybe tonightI can breathe for a while I'm not in the seatI think I'm fallin' asleep But then all that it means is I'll always be dreaming of you |

Rancid |
|
Rancid & How Them Start-Up Rancid Is...
Tim Armstrong: Guitar, VocalsLars Fredrickson: Guitar, VocalsMatt Freeman: Bass Brett Reed: Drums If the members of Rancid seem to share a deeper bond than most bands--or most anyone, for that matter--it's because they do. From Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman's childhood friendship in the working class enclave of Albany, CA, to the subsequent additions of Brett Reed and Lars Frederiksen (in 1991 and 1993, respectively), they have depended on one another for friendship, support and even survival for the better part of a decade. Friends from the age of five, Tim and Matt began playing together in high school, eventually forming the short-lived but vastly influential Operation Ivy. From its 1987 inception, Op Ivy would become the keystone of the East Bay scene that centered around the Gilman Street club/musician's collective; the scene around which the lives of all four Rancid members would converge. The band's 1989 break-up found Tim spiritually adrift for a spell, eventually straightening out with help from Matt as they co-founded Rancid in September 1991. When it came time to recruit a drummer, Tim turned to friend and roommate Brett Reed, with whom he'd been sharing a crash pad over a liquor store on the South Berkeley/North Oakland border. That Brett had been playing for all of six months was hardly an issue; Rancid was playing shows within two months, releasing its first single on Berkeley-based Lookout! Records (the label that released the posthumous Op Ivy compilation, as well as formative releases from Green Day, Avail, Econochrist, Isocracy, Crimpshrine, et al.) in 1992. The original three-piece Rancid line-up soon signed to Epitaph Records, recording and releasing a self-titled debut LP by 1993. Meanwhile, the band had set about recruiting a second guitarist. (Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong--no relation to Tim--even filled in for one show and co-wrote "Radio" which would appear on R.
Rancid - Radio

My True Story When I Was A Kid |
Sunday, February 11, 2007 |
Actually, I din't really like Malay song even when I was younger. ButI more prefer to band boy like Backstreet Boy, NSYC', Westlife and some pop rock band like The Moffats. I didn't like Malay artist but I really love Hindustan song at that time....haha...jangan katawa begia. Sampai sekolah tingkatan pun aku masih dengar ni lagu-lagu macam itu. Until I'm in form 2, a new band were coming, and very famous at that time. It's Linkin Park. They come withfull of stylish(for me they're great) in playing music. I mean stylish here because it'sthe first time I heard a sound like mixing between rock, hip hop and metal. Then they're the first Nu Metal band I'd like. After heard the, my music perception and my favourite music were change andther leading to another type of bands like Linkin Park. I still remember second album than Hybrid Theory I had is Significant Other by Limp Bizkit. I really love this album.
Then, music by Korn and Soulfly were going to be my next list. Soulfy is the first New Age Metal bandI heard. Then follow-up by Machine Head, Fear Factory and Slipknot. I really like sound by Fear Factory in thier album 'Digimortal", their music I best as far as I heard.
After that, saya cuba la bah kunun berjinak-jinak mendengar muzik lain. I'm in form 4 at that time. It is like Blink 182's Take Of Your Pants And Jacket, I still remember I'd buy the album in Centre Point,KK when I'm going home. I am get attracted to this band when thier song The Rock Show were going hits at that time. I really love their The Rock Show music video.Whoass...after that, I really like punk rock because they're happy and funny melodies. Then I had Green Day but didn't really like Green Day.
Then, slowly my favourite music were change to punk but I'm not going to say that I didn't like new age music anymore. Until now, I still love Korn (love Freak In A Leash, Korn's best song) and Fear Factory. After that, my playlist changed to songs from great punk bands like NOFX, Pennywise, and Rancid. Sex Pistol, which is a very famous punk band in 70's is going to my playlists.
But for now, Rancid is the greatest punk band ever for me and more band, Goldfinger. Most of their song in most of their album were great. I won't get bored to listen to their song everyday.
Goldfinger, I like their live performance and their album 'Open You Eyes' is the best punk album after Rancid's 'Let's Go'. Whatever lah. But I'm not going to say that the other music is not good, but I just crazy to Punk Rock.Ohh yea...I'm not really like emo punk and gothic punk such as My Chemical Romance, The Get Up Kids, Alkaline Trio and so on.But I think they're good too.
Ok.Lets Go !!!!!! |
